We are so excited to be farming again this year, and we hope you all will join us! We have planned 6 excellent workshops open to anyone in the St. Louis area and 2 that we are hoping to offer to those who live in our neighborhood. We would love to have you volunteer and work with us in the beds, or celebrate with us at one of our parties this year. Make sure to come out and enjoy this growing season with us.
We are excited to offer 5 CSA slots to help us meet our budget this year. Shares cost $500 dollars and help us cover the cost of seeds, tools, labor and other expenses, and shareholders will be expected to come to the farm to pick up their share once a week (in the past, this has been on Fridays from 2-5pm). The season runs from the beginning of June through the end of October. This is a total of 22 weeks of fresh produce harvested that day.
Because our mission focuses on food security and urban sustainability, we are only accepting new shareholders that live within 5 miles of the farm. We are accepting shareholders until April 15, 2011, so please email us at email@example.com.
If you do not live in that radius, we would still encourage you to connect with a CSA. Lee Farms has a CSA with a pick-up spot at the Old North Grocery Co-op, and anyone wishing to purchase or split a CSA share, full or half, can email firstname.lastname@example.org. Or, click here for a listing of CSA’s throughout the country.
